曲への想い

2005年には映画化もされたブロードウェイ作品

アメリカの虚構の現実を風刺した魅力的なロックミュージカル

この作品完成まもなく、

35歳で急逝したジョナサン・ラーソンの遺作である

クリスマスシーズンに、

クラスメンバーで歌った「Seasons of Love」は

こころ温まる名曲だ

 

ブロードウェイ Nederlander Theatreで

はじめてこの作品を鑑賞したときは、

ミミ役をメラニー・ブラウンが演じていた

彼女はちょうど拠点をアメリカに移し、

その後のスパイス・ガールズ再結成までの

アクトレスとして舞台に立ったタイミングで見たことになる

印象としては、

やたらにハスキーだったのがきにかかったが、

高音の伸びは素晴らしかった

 

2020年3月、

東京建物Brillia HALLのこけら落とし公演で見れるチャンスがあるので、

久々に鑑賞しに行ってみようと思う

 

さて作品は、マークとロジャーとの掛け合いソング

ある年の12月

新宿のある有名焼き肉店ビルの上で行った門下生発表会での発表曲として、

この曲に思いを持つレッスンメイトから誘いを受け、

ロジャーのパートで歌った

 

彼とは文化村ルシネマでの映画も一緒に見に行ったこともあり、

それぞれのアドリブで

痛快な演奏となった

チャンスがあれば

また歌ってみたい曲だ

 

この発表会では、ほかに

闇が広がる（エリザベート）

ホール・ニュー・ワールド（アラジン）

と合計4曲
