曲への想い

No.5 Le Temps des Cathedrales に続いて2曲目になる

2部構成、51曲にも及ぶ大作で

No.5 Le Temps des Cathedralesが、

道先案内人である吟遊詩人グランゴワールが歌う初めの曲であったのに対し、

このDanse mon Esmeraldaはカジモドが歌う最後の曲となる。

エスメラルダの亡骸を抱きしめる、

カジモドにはもはや希望はなく、

追うようにして命果てていく

彼が抱く思いをつづりながら、

引きづるようにどこまでも音程を上がり続け、

呪文のようにEsmeraldaの名を呼び

そして果てるのだ

オリジナルキャストのハスキーで野性味のある声には遠く及ばず

聞くに堪えるか不安だったが、

自己満足でありながら

絶望の淵に打ちひしがれて死んでいくカジモドの心境を

少しだけ感じ取ることができた気がする
